St. Louis Blues Draft Forwards Tynan Lawrence and Maddox Dagenais

The St. Louis Blues picked forward Tynan Lawrence at No. 11 and forward Maddox Dagenais at No. 16 in the first round of the 2026 NHL Draft.

The Blues also traded picks No. 15 and No. 29 to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for Mason McTavish.

What happened at the draft?

The Blues selected two forwards to bolster their lineup.

Lawrence, 17, split last season between the USHL's Muskegon Lumberjacks and Boston University.

Why it matters for St. Louis Blues

The additions come as the Blues sit 9th in the Western Conference with a 37-33 record, on a W4 streak as of June 27, 2026.

Tynan Lawrence recorded 17 points in 13 regular-season games with Muskegon.

What comes next for the Blues?

Rounds 2-7 of the Draft will take place Saturday, with the Blues having nine picks remaining.

The Blues have picks Nos. 73, 75, and 76 in the third round, and are looking to strengthen their roster.

Lawrence led Canada to a bronze medal at the 2025 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, and posted 54 points in 56 regular-season games with Muskegon in the 2024-25 season.

The Blues are looking to build on their current streak and make a push in the standings.

Maddox Dagenais was selected at No. 16, adding depth to the Blues' forward lineup.

The Blues' moves at the draft are aimed at improving their position in the Western Conference.
